An overnight preculture of E. coli BJJ01 pCTUT7-Vlm1 pKS01-Vlm2 (OD₆₀₀ of ~6.0) was distributed without diluting it into the 24-well plates with 1 mL per well (total volume 3.3 mL). Different amounts of biocatalyst (1.5, 3, 9 or 15 U L⁻¹) were added to each well followed by 48 h cultivation at 250 rpm and 30°C with online measurement of DO and pH.
