Role of TezRs in virulence. A Role of TezRs in the of S. aureus hemolysis and lecithinase activities. Hemolytic activity of control S. aureus or S. aureus lacking TezRs is represented by a clear zone around the colonies on sheep blood agar plates. The presence of α- or β-hemolysis is marked with red letters. Lecithinase activity was analyzed by measuring a white diffuse zone surrounding the colonies. The extent of hemolysis and lecithinase zones (in mm) ranges from white (minimal) to dark blue (maximum).
