Biomass production (A) and very long chain fatty acid accumulation (B) in yeast strains YL15 (pTEF-YlDGA1, pTEF-TaFAE1), YL62 (pTEF-YlDGA1, 8UAS-pTEF-TaFAE1), and YL53 (Δmfe, pTEF-YlDGA1, 8UAS-pTEF-TaFAE1). All strains were grown in a 60 g/L glucose medium with a C/N ratio of 80 for 72 h. Each value is an average of three experiments.
