From: Retro-protein XXA is a remarkable solubilizing fusion tag for inclusion bodies

Fig. 5

Multiple comparisons of the solubilizing effect of XXA and other tags on Notch2NL(1ā€“210). We used six tagsā€”sumo, Trx, GST, XXA, MBP, NusAā€”to conduct a lateral comparison of the solubilizing effect of Notch2NL (1ā€“210). The results in the figure showed that sumo, Trx, and MBP had a poor solubilizing effect on Notch2NL(1ā€“210), with most of the fusion protein existed in the precipitate, where the effect of GST was slightly better. The fusion effect of XXA and NusA were the best, with most of the fusion proteins expressed in soluble form. The solubility of each fusion protein was calculated by band intensity and is shown in Table 1. b We used six tagsā€”sumo, Trx, GST, XXA, MBP, NusAā€”to conduct a lateral comparison of the solubilizing effect of nClu. The results in the figure showed that two fusion proteins, Sumo-nClu and Trx-nClu had not obvious expression. Meanwhile, GST and NusA had poor solubilization effect on nClu, with most of the fusion protein existed in the precipitate. XXA had best solubilization effect on nClu. The solubility of each fusion protein was calculated by band intensity and is shown in Table 1
