Results for the second (aerobic, no growth) and third (anaerobic, no growth) phase of a three-stage process for 2,3-BDO production with the ATPase strain and the control strain (see also Table 2). When switching from aerobic to anaerobic conditions the culture were transferred from shake flasks (250 rpm) to glass bottles incubated in an anaerobic chamber.
