Analysis of the ability of the four tRNA variants to translate a test protein, CrCD, at different growth temperatures. Six C. reinhardtii cell lines, all containing the CD/2* gene but with different tRNA variants, were grown for 72 h at 20, 25, 30 or 35 °C. Crude extracts were equalised according to the culture optical density at 750 nm and subjected to SDS-PAGE and Western blotting using an anti-HA antibody to detect CrCD protein.
