The yeast strain Y. lipolytica JMY3675 was cultured in a synthetic medium using glycerol as the carbon source and either ammonium chloride or ammonium sulfate as the nitrogen source. Nitrogen sources were mixed with glycerol to obtain a C/N ratio of 25 or 35. The lipid content (percent of CDW) was estimated using Bodipy fluorescence and the green fluorescent protein optical filter (ex: 486 nm/em: 508 nm; Gain = 80).
