From: Sandwich hybridisation assay for quantitative detection of yeast RNAs in crude cell lysates
Level of SUC2 mRNA of S. cerevisiae carlsbergensis given as molecular amount per cell determined by sandwich hybridization (●) and the activity of invertase (▲) during exponential growth in medium containing 1% yeast extract, 2% Bacto peptone solution and either a) 2% sucrose or b) 2% glucose as carbon source. Growth was followed by optical density at 600 nm (□). 7 × 107 – 1.2 × 108 yeast cells as crude lysate were added to the sandwich hybridization for 18S rRNA analysis. The error bars show the ± SD of three parallel samples.
