Time course of transcription during growth of B. subtilis strains MGB874 and 874ΔrocG. The strains MGB874 (open circles) and 874∆rocG (closed circles) were transformed with pHYS237. The transformants were cultured using shake-flask fermentation. Transcript levels for htrB, nrgA and gltA were determined by qRT-PCR (primers shown in Additional file 2: Table S1). Transcript levels were normalized to 16S rRNA levels. Error bars represent standard deviations (n=3).
