From: IcsA autotransporter passenger promotes increased fusion protein expression on the cell surface
Ampicillin susceptibility of UT5600 strains expressing IcsA and IcsA β fusion proteins are resistant to 150 μg ampicillin. Bacterial strains expressing Bla (KMRM1), IcsA (MLRM4), IcsA-Bla (MLRM28) and IcsAβ-Bla (MLRM20) were added to 5 mL soft agar and were overlaid onto three different solidified media: LB alone, LB + 0.2% glucose or LB + 0.2% arabinose. 150 μg ampicillin was spotted onto sterile Whatman filters, and the agar plate was incubated at 37°C for 16 h. The diameter of the zone of inhibition was measured in millimetre (mm). KMRM1 is resistant to ampicillin. Data are represented as mean ± SEM of three independent experiments. *p < 0.05
