Figure 3

Analysis of IcsA/IcsA β fusion protein production. UT5600 strains were grown to mid-log phase and induced with 0.2% (w/v) arabinose. Samples were taken at times indicated. Approximately 1 × 108 bacteria were solubilised, electrophoresed on a 12% SDS-polyacrylamide gel and subjected to Western immunoblotting. Immunoblotting of (A) MLRM4 (pMLRM1) with anti-IcsA; (B) MLRM28 (pMLRM1::bla) with anti-IcsA and (C) anti-Bla; (D) MLRM20 (pMLRM2::bla) with anti-Bla; (E) MLRM39 (pMLRM1::malE) with anti-IcsA and (F) anti-MBP; (G) MLRM37 (pMLRM2::malE) with anti-MBP; (H) UT5600 with anti-MBP. The apparent molecular sizes of the proteins are indicated. *Protein degradation products MalE induced due to chromosomal gene in UT5600
