Comparison of wild type and mutated L. plantarum Ldh protein levels: Western Blot determination. S. cerevisiae GRF18U cells transformed with the plasmid carrying the wild type or the mutated L. plantarum LDH genes were shake-flask grown in glucose 2% wv^-1 minimal selective medium. From samples collected at indicated times total protein were TCA extracted and Ldh(s) levels were visualised by Western Blot analyses. Protein extracts corresponding to 10⁷ cells were loaded in each lane, together with a negative control (-).
