Analysis of metabolic intermediates during P(3HB) accumulation. The transformants of E. coli JM109/pSTV28 + pQE-Ma-phaABEC (pale colors) and JM109/pSTV-Pp-coaA + pQE-Ma-phaABEC (dark colors) were aerobically cultivated in 30 mL of M9 minimal medium in the absence (blue) or presence of 2 mM pantothenate (green) or 2 mM β-alanine (red) for 32 h at 37 °C. Intracellular CoA and its derivatives (A) and CoA precursors (B) were measured by CE-MS. The significant differences were analyzed by Turkey’s HSD test (p < 0.05).
