In vivo assays showing the binding of the OsnR protein to the promoter region of the sigH gene. The binding activity was analyzed by measuring the β-galactosidase activity expressed from the PsigH::lacZ reporter plasmid (a) and the PsigB::lacZ reporter plasmid (b). The E. coli host contained a plasmid that expresses the OsnR protein and the reporter. A plasmid carrying only the reporter was used as a negative control (b). The cells were grown with DTT or diamide. Three independent experiments were performed, and the data represent three technical replicates from a representative experiment
