Functional characterization of CYP712K1, CYP712K2, and CYP712K3 using tobacco agroinfiltration and GC–MS analysis. The three P450s were analyzed for their ability to oxygenate friedelin, produced by co-infiltration with TwOSC4. Metabolites of leaves co-expressing indicated enzymes were detected by GC–MS analysis of dried and TMS derivatized leaf disc ethyl acetate extracts. Co-infiltration with p19 and CfDXS was used in all experiments to inhibit silencing of foreign gene expression and to elevate the isoprenoid diphosphate substrate pool, respectively
