Xylitol production from detoxified corncob hydrolysate, nondetoxified hydrolysate, or XML in fermenter at 42 °C. The concentration of arabinose in the detoxified (a) or nondetoxified corncob hydrolysate (b) was very low and is not shown. During the fermentation of XML (c), 50 mL of non-sterilized XML (containing about 400 g/L of xylose, without diluted) was fed into the fermenter directly when the xylose concentration in the medium decreased to ~ 30 g/L
