Characterization of the immune response. Groups (n = 6) of BALB/c mice were intranasally immunized with purified FliD, spores of alone (168, BKH121), or FliD-adsorbed spores (168/FliD, BKH121/FliD). Isolated splenocytes were stimulated with purified FliD and levels of following cytokines were measured in cell culture supernatants: a IL-2, b IL-10, c IL-17A, d IFN-γ, e TNF-α.
