Product formation in whole cells over 48Â h of biotransformation. Low cell density was between 3.5 and 5Â gDCW/L. High cell density was >25Â gDCW/L. High cell density cultures produced octyl acetate by-product alongside 1-octanol (an artefact of the expression system).
