Substrate specificity of the wild-type and mutant enzymes against various ρ-nitrophenyl esters. Substrate specificity against various ρ-nitrophenyl esters with acyl chain lengths of C2, C4, C6, C8, C10, and C12 was determined under assay conditions of pH 6.5 and 55 °C. The activity of the wild-type enzyme, M1, M2, and M3 are colored black, red, blue, and dark cyan, respectively.
