Growth of ManB-displaying L. plantarum cells. Growth of L. plantarum strains harboring plasmids designed for cell-surface display of ManB (pSIP_1261ManB and pSIP_ManBcwa2) was tested using MRS containing the indicated carbohydrates. The growth was determined after 12 h of incubation at 37 °C and the fold increase in the number of colony forming units (cfu/ml) for each culture in comparison with the growth in MRS medium without any added carbohydrate source was evaluated
