Effect of carbenoxolone (CBX) on 11β-HSD1 dependent response in the strains RVY102. 11β-HSD1 dependent yEGFP fluorescence of strain RVY102 treated with 1000 μM cortisone and increasing CBX concentrations. Increasing concentration of carbenoxolone improved the stability of yEGFP in the yeast population indicating a progressive loss of enzyme activity. Cells treated with 1000 μM cortisone and 3 μM carbenoxolone showed a fluorescence comparable to the one of the untreated population (DMSO) indicating a complete absence of yEGFP degradation. tdTomato fluorescence was maximum and constant in all samples analysed and was not affected by treatments with cortisone and carbenoxolone (not shown).
