rpoS knockout causes oxidative stress in stationary phase. Cells were grown in the presence of the H2O2-activated fluorescent dye DHR123 and subjected to flow cytometry to measure intracellular ROS. The panels show DHR123-dependent fluorescence in MG1655* and Seq+ during exponential, early and late stationary growth phase, respectively
