Overview of metabolic effects on Synechocystis during nitrogen starvation. Metabolites (red squares) with potential influence on butanol synthesis were quantified at nitrogen replete (N+) and deplete (N−) conditions. Glycogen levels are relative to wild type at N−, which is defined as 100 %.
