Production of SO2 (A) and acetaldehyde (B) by the parental strains(JN10 and JN17, respectively) and the strains in which the MET2 gene of one parental strain was replaced with the MET2 allele of the other by allelic replacement(JN10 MET2 JN17 and JN17 MET2 JN10, respectively). Values are the mean of five biological replicates for SO2 production by the parental strains, three biological replicates for SO2 production by the hybrid, and two biological replicates for SO2 and acetaldehyde production by the strains in which the MET2 gene of one parental strain was replaced with the MET2 allele of the other.
