Time profiles of substrate concentration and ectoine production during flask-level bioconversion. An optimized reaction mixture containing 100 mM sodium aspartate, 100 mM glycerol, 100 mM KCl, 100 mM sodium phosphate buffer (pH7.0) and recombinant E. coli cells of 5 OD/mL was used. The bioconversion reactions were performed at 30°C and 200 rpm for 30 h. Error bars represent standard deviations from triplicate biological replicates.
