Time course of R. equi USA-18ΔB8. The bacterial strain was grown aerobically in glycerol minimal medium supplemented with 0.2% (w/v) cholesterol and 0.5% (v/v) Tween 20 at 28°C for 1 week. An aliquot of the broth was withdrawn every day. Cell density and ADD concentration of the samples were determined by the methods described in Materials and methods.
