Comparison of the crystal structure of homology model for C. magnoliae JH110 ER (A) with barley ALR1 (B). Looking down at the NADPH cofactor in the active site at the center of the (α/ß)8-barrel. A hairpin (B1 + B2) covers one end of the barrel while a NADPH binding site is sealing the opposite end. Helices are red (CmER) and yellow (barley ALR1), and sheets are green (CmER) and cyan (barley ALR1). The cofactor is included in sticks. Amino acids bound to the NADPH were colored by blue (CmER) and black (barley ALR1).
