A. niger radial growth in complete medium agar plates in the presence of 0.25 mg/L, 0.5 mg/L, 1 mg/L, 2 mg/L and 4 mg/L of malachite green or malachite green decolorized with McoB for 3 h (a); and in the presence of 6 mg/L, 10 mg/L and 20 mg/L of malachite green or malachite green decolorized with McoB for 20 h (b and c). The radial mycelium growth was measured 24 h after inoculation. The picture illustrates the appearance of A. niger N593 strain, grown in complete medium in the presence of different concentrations of MG or DMG, 72 h after inoculation.
