Pre-coating with the SP1 supernatant reduces attachment during biofilm formation. Biofilms of E. coli PHL628 were developed in 96-well microtiter plates in different conditions: no supernatant (A), wells pre-coated with supernatant (B), supernatant present (C), and supernatant added to pre-formed E. coli biofilm (D). The plate was incubated for 36 h, followed by crystal violet staining and spectrophotometric absorbance measurements (OD570). The ratio of biofilm absorbance/planktonic absorbance was calculated, and this value is presented as the "biofilm formation" on the y axis. Bars represent means ± standard errors for six replicates.
