Probes used for Southern experiments are indicated as bars that are located in the corresponding region of the DNA where they hybridize. (C) Southern analysis. Genomic DNA of strain RutC-30 and 19 putative transformants were digested with Pst I. Filter was probed with a 0.6-kb Pst I fragment comprising part of the coding region and part of the 5' UTR of the pgi gene.
